Meeting of SGGW Authorities and Students from Ghana with the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Nigeria
On April 10, 2026, a meeting was held on the campus of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) between SGGW students and the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Nigeria, Mr. Michał Cygan. The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Dr. hab. Marta Mendel, Professor at SGGW; Dr. hab. Jarosław Chormański, Professor at SGGW; staff of the International Cooperation Office; students from Ghana and Nigeria studying at SGGW; as well as Polish students who will be traveling to Ghana next semester as part of a student exchange program.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to discuss cooperation and activities carried out and planned by the university in the West African region. Issues addressed included difficulties in obtaining visas for students from Ghana, who must travel to Nigeria twice in person to obtain one; the possibility of opening a Polish consulate in Ghana; and public safety in African countries, particularly in Ghana and Nigeria.
Cooperation with African countries is an important element of SGGW’s activities, especially in areas related to its academic and educational profile. The meeting took place in a very positive atmosphere, enabling the exchange of valuable experiences and discussion of prospects for further collaboration.
